Description:
We are seeking an innovative and student-focused School Counselor to join a school community in Summerville, SC. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and personal development while collaborating closely with educators, staff, families, and the broader school community.


This role offers an opportunity to help strengthen and develop student support systems and programs, particularly in the areas of student health, mental health, kindness, character development, career awareness, and overall well-being .

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling and support to students to promote academic, social, emotional, and personal success.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to address student needs.
• Help develop and strengthen student support programs and resources.
• Promote positive mental health, wellness, kindness, and character development throughout the school community.
• Support initiatives focused on career awareness and student readiness for future goals.
• Identify student needs and connect students and families with appropriate resources and services.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and follow school and district policies.
• Participate in meetings, school activities, and other initiatives that support student success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Education, or a related field.
• Appropriate South Carolina School Counselor certification/credential as required.
• Experience working with school-age students in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for student advocacy and whole-child development.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff and families.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday-Friday

Start: ASAP

End: Remainder of the 2026-2027 School Year
